General Dentistry Procedures Provided at True Dental
We have invested the time, resources, and energy into advanced training and education in order to offer a wide range of general dentistry services to our valued patients. Some of the services that we provide are:
Preventive Care
X-rays: Pictures of the teeth, bones, and soft tissues that are diagnostic for detecting cavities and other pathologies of the mouth. Our technology is state-of-the-art and uses the lowest amount of radiation.
Adult Prophylaxis (Cleaning): Commonly called a dental cleaning, a prophy is a preventive service that includes polishing of the teeth to remove plaque, buildup, and stains above the gum line. It reduces gingivitis, an inflammation of the gums that may cause bleeding.
Child Prophylaxis (Cleaning): Similar to adult prophylaxis, this procedure is performed on children when baby teeth are still present. Our team is renowned for their care and friendliness with children.
Intraoral Exam: A hard and soft tissue examination that includes checking the teeth, the soft tissues of the mouth, the throat, the tongue, and the gums.
Extraoral Exam: An examination that includes checking the head, neck, face, and jaw.
Dental Sealants: These are coatings applied to the small indentations in the chewing surfaces of teeth, forming a protective layer against plaque and decay.
Restorative Dentistry
Mercury Safe and Mercury Free Fillings: we offer the highest standard in filling replacements, removing and replacing old silver amalgam fillings that can leech mercury over time.
Tooth-Colored Fillings: by using tooth-colored resin for fillings, we can save more of the tooth and ensure a longer-lasting result that looks better with the rest of your smile.
Crowns/Bridges: A full coverage restoration used when a major portion of the tooth is missing. A bridge can also be used to replace a missing tooth in the mouth. We use the highest quality materials such as porcelain, gold, and zirconium to ensure that the restoration feels just like your natural teeth.
Inlays/Onlays: A more advanced restoration used when a significant portion of a tooth is missing due to decay or fracture. We typically use porcelain or gold to replace missing tooth structure. This process involves prepping the tooth, taking an impression, having a lab custom make the restoration, and cementing in the final restoration at a later date.
Implant Crowns: After an implant is placed in the jaw and the tissue has healed around it, we fabricate a crown to match the surrounding teeth. It will look and feel like a regular tooth.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Laminate Veneers: Translucent thin laminates made of porcelain to improve the esthetics (shape, spacing, color) of natural teeth to correct crowding or replace composite bonding. Porcelain veneers are extremely lifelike and hold their brilliance.
Whitening: The two options we offer are in-office whitening and at-home trays. In-office teeth whitening is a one-hour process that involves brushing gel on the teeth and using a light to dramatically whiten. Take-home whitening involves filling custom-made trays with tooth-whitening material.
Retainers and Guards
Nightguards/mouthguards: A custom-made and custom-fitted appliance used for the prevention of teeth grinding.
Retainers: A plastic appliance used to retain teeth after orthodontic treatment.
Sports Guards: A custom sports guard protects your mouth from impact injuries. We strongly recommend them for contact sports, and they can also provide protection in non-contact sports.
TMJ Devices: For patients with TMJ disorders, we create custom appliances to cushion the teeth from grinding damage and relieve TMJ symptoms.
Sleep/Snoring Devices: For chronic snorers, an oral appliance can help keep the airway open to facilitate healthier, more restful (and quieter) sleep.
Endodontic Treatment
Root Canals: When a tooth is severely damaged, decayed, or infected, we may recommend a root canal. This treatment saves teeth that would otherwise need to be removed and removes the infected dental pulp before bacteria can spread into the surrounding gum tissue and bone.
